everything you need to know

      congratulations on your engagement!

you are about to marry your best friend, surrounded by your nearest and dearest, super exciting!

your day should tell a story about who you and your sole mate are.

have a look at my most frequently asked questions and read about my style and approach to shooting weddings to get a really great idea of what its like to have me with you, documenting your day.

      what is your style?

my style of photography is documentary, and never staged. i look for the in-between moments, the mood, and the romance in the ordinary. some of my favourite images are out of focus, movement, stormy clouds, and moody images. if you want a laid back, unconventional or intimate wedding with all the little moments captured, then I’m your girl.

will you hold a date for us?

i can’t hold a date for you, but i can let you know if someone else enquires about the same date before you’ve booked me. however it is a first come, first served process, so whoever pays their booking fee first secures the date.

how do we book you for our wedding?

send me an email and i'll get right back to you. we can then catch up over coffee (or wine!) if you have any questions you want answered before you book. when you are ready to book, you lock in a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your date. at the same time i’ll send you a contract to look over and sign. the balance is due two weeks before the wedding.

      do you travel?

definitely, i love to travel! for interstate weddings you just have to cover my flights, 2 nights accommodation and car hire. there is a $50/hour travel fee each way for locations more than 100km from Geelong and may include accommodation costs if required. all travel arrangements are booked by me.

      do you bring another photographer?

it’s just me, i’m pretty good at getting everywhere i need to be.

can you help us with our timeline?

absolutely. i will give you a form to complete to give an outline of what your needs are for the day which we can then disucss when we meet prior to your wedding. i know roughly how long things take on the day and can help plan timing. the most important thing with photos is the light, i therefore recommend as late as possible ceremony in summer to avoid bright, harsh sunlight. if you’re having a winter wedding then a 3pm ceremony will leave enough time for photos afterwards.

how much coverage will we need?

when determining how long you want covered by me it’s best to figure out the very first thing you would like photos of (eg getting ready, people arriving to ceremony), then work to last photos you want (eg speeches, dancing photos).

what do we receive with our wedding collection?

high resolution (for printing) and low resolution (for web) digital images will be uploaded to a beautiful online gallery for you and your family to view, download and share as you please. the gallery also has an online print store that you can select and print any of your images from me. generally you will receive 75-100 images per hour of coverage, within 6-8 weeks after your wedding as JPEG files on a custom USB, as well as 15 5x7 fine art prints.

do you offer any other prints or albums?

definitely! i work closely with Australian fine art printers. when you receive your online gallery you also gain access to your own personalised store, where you can purchase a wide range of products including matte and fine art prints, framed prints and albums. if you have purchased an album it will arrive soon after your USB. this is designed by myself, but i am happy for you to select images you would like in your album.

can you recommend any other suppliers?

i work with so many wonderful suppliers and would love to share my recommendations with you when you book so you can have the most amazing team behind you.

can we give you a shot list?

i request a a list of the family group shots but you can trust me on the rest of the day, i will get it! but please let me know of any important details that i might not otherwise know about.

how long will it be before we see any of our photos?

i will always send you a couple of edited 'sneak peek' photos the next day so you have something to view and share straight away. on average, the gallery of images will be supplied in an online gallery approximately 6-8 weeks after your wedding date.

      can you photoshop me?

in a nutshell, no. it isn't true to my style of honest documentary photography. i photoshop distractive elements in your images (such as a road sign or rubbish on the ground) and i will remove the odd blemish but that's about it. these photos are not about how you look. its about making some lovely memories with your most loved one on your special day.

my partner does not like the camera. how do you make the photos look natural?

i'm a natural introvert who does not like being in front of a camera. however if you just think about what the day is really about, you will have no problems acting natural in front of a camera. it really shouldn't be about the photographer or the photos. it's about celebrating your love in front of your family and friends. it's about the journey you are on with the person you love the most in this world. my aim is to make your feel comfortable with me and before you even realise it, you will have a collection of incredible images to last a lifetime.
